The questions of many religious believers are how can they come closer to God; how can they know God? Such philosophical thought has taken up a lot of human mind bandwidth over the past 18,000 years. And all sorts of Gods and religions have been involved, too many to list. Religion is common in most cultures and human societies, as it appears to help humans overcome their fears of the unknown and of death. Not long ago a think tanker in an online think tank forum was generally calling all humans morons and the greatest scientists of our day stupid and unenlightened. Obviously this provoked a reaction from the rest of the group and think tank. Apparently this think tanker had contemplated what god was to him and modified components of various religions and then came up with his own. As the debate became more toxic and heated he offered these words and stated: When you know what is a human being, then it becomes possible to know what is a planet and what is a star and what is a universe and what is a cosmos and what is God! The universe is hiding inside a human being! When you know what is a human being, you'll automatically know what is the universe and what is God! This is TMT! Of course this provoked a rapid response and challenge from another think tank member who came back with this comment: Actually it is interesting that you tear down human beings and call the brightest amongst them stupid, then describe something that is within their own theories of energy and light and indicate you have all the secret answers and then introduce a new religion? Even use the word god in your pitch as you chastise the star scientists amongst the masses of ignorance? Interesting. Interesting pitch indeed, not sure this belongs on a think tank website really. Although as far as religions go, perhaps it is better than some of the others, and at least you keep your hypocrisy channeled at the scientists? Well, thanks for your input I guess. Needless to say the think tanker with the toxic attitude and religious rhetoric did not go over that well in the Think Tank. Do you have something to say about the Cosmos, God, Universe or what it is to be human? If so, then let us know and think on this in 2006. |
